The RainKeepers Volunteering event aimed to implement the "SCALLS" project for the Aliancita community.

TECHO's approach to social transformation is multidimensional, focusing on the strengthening of community capabilities. Their methodology includes Identification, Diagnosis, Action, and Evaluation, all of which aim to address the needs of vulnerable communities. One such community is Aliancita, which was selected for the joint volunteering event due to its marginalization and limited access to basic water, electricity, and sewerage services.

In 2022, Aliancita suffered a devastating fire during the drought season in Monterrey that destroyed ten homes, highlighting the community's vulnerability. The fire was exacerbated by the lack of water in the area, which only arrives once every one or two weeks. TECHO stepped in to rebuild the homes and address the water scarcity issue through the construction of rainwater harvesting systems called "SCALLS".

The RainKeepers Volunteering event aimed to implement the "SCALLS" project for the Aliancita community. With 15 volunteers from Proeza, they joined forces with Newmark and UPS to achieve remarkable results:

• A record-breaking 16 SCALLS constructed in a single day.
• 16 beneficiary families, with approximately 64 direct beneficiaries.
• A 20% advance towards the SCALLS target commitment to the community.

The famous phrase, "If not me, who? If not today, when?", serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of proactive action. By taking responsibility and getting involved in solving challenges, each person can bring about significant and lasting change.
